The Brink Lounge * For this month's show at The Brink Lounge, Tracy and Alan welcome very special guest JOE IAQUINTO (bass, guitars, vocals) who will co-bill the show. Joe grew up and began his music career playing bass in Brooklyn, NY, but relocated to the West Coast in the late '70s where he had the chance to perform and record with an amazing roster of incredible artists and bands...including (to name just a few): Billy Preston, Peter Cetera (Chicago), Earl Slick (David Bowie), Rita Coolidge, Stephen Bishop, Patrick Simmons (Doobie Brothers), Davey Johnstone (Elton John), Wayne Newton, and many many more. Joe now lives with his family here in Madison, where he is writing and recording songs for the release of his first solo record. Joe also plays with some great local bands (Groove Busters and several others), and also continues to work in Los Angeles, New York, and all points in between. For this show, Joe will do some solos but will also combine with Tracy & Alan for a good number of tunes as well. There will be tunes from Chicago, Peter Cetera, Billy Preston, Doobie Brothers, Elton John, Tom Petty, Steely Dan, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and MUCH more! No cover. In the main lounge. For this show I welcome special guest Nancy Rost, my former triomate (with Dave Schindele) in a side project called Likely Stories in the midto late 2000s. The group is no longer active as a trio but I remain friends with both Nancy and Dave, who are active solo musicians and amazing songwriters. Nancy is very prolific in her songwriting and is a great keyboardist who teaches full-time at Madison Music Foundry. Nancy will perform some solo tunes and we will also perform some together - so expect a healthy dose of originals during this show. And I'll be playing the CELLO with Nancy at this show! Little Bohemia Lodge Road gig! I'll be supporting Doug Cleary, adding keys and backing vocals. Also on deck will be my colleague from Top Shelf, Jeff Root, on bass! Doug sings and plays guitar, offering up the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Eagles, America, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, and many more great singer/songwriters...plus some originals. He says: "If you happen to be in northern WI come to Little Bohemia for dinner and give me listen in the bar area before dining and then come back into the bar after for the biggest ice cream desert drink you have ever seen." Doug plays regularly at Little Bohemia so check him out any time you're vacationing in the northwoods. I've known Doug for years and am happy to have the chance to sit in.
