Tracy
Jane Comer
(Artistic Director, Classical
& Steel String Guitars,
Cello, Hammered Dulcimer, Piano)
Tracy Jane Comer is a multi-instrumentalist and
award-winning singer/songwriter with a thriving solo career, apart
from her current involvement with Alchemy Ensemble and other groups
including Elixir Chamber
Trio & Sticky Fingers (folk trio). Tracy has had many years of study in various
instruments, including study at undergraduate and graduate levels. She has also been a member of several ensembles including the JART String Quartet, TNT, A Piacere, and
the Romanza Trio.
Many of the works performed by these ensembles
were arranged or adapted by Tracy. She has also taught
privaely and has years of experience of
piano accompanying in school and church settings. As a singer/songwriter,
Tracy has released
two full-length solo recordings of her original contemporary
folk music, and has received four nominations
by the Madison Area Music Awards, two each for BEST ACOUSTIC ARTIST

Faye
Bruggink (Clarinet)
Faye Bruggink has been playing
clarinet for almost 25 years. Maintaining first chair status in
Madison middle and high school bands and orchestras by taking private
lessons with Nancy Mackenzie, principal clarinetist with the Wisconsin
Chamber Orchestra, she also played in the Wisconsin Youth Symphony
Orchestras (WYSO) and attended the Wisconsin School of Music Association’s
Honor Band music camp.
Faye traveled to England and Scotland as part
of WYSO’s Youth Orchestra under the direction of UW-Madison School
of Music Professor James Smith in 1989 for the International Youth
Music Festival in Aberdeen, Scotland. Continuing with the clarinet
and taking up the electric bass guitar in the last decade, Faye
has been playing in several small ensembles with Tracy Jane Comer
since the new millennium, including a trio with Theresa Eisenbraun
(flute), Alchemy Trio with Mary Driscoll (flute), and currently,
Elixir Chamber Trio with Diane Madsen (piano and flute).

JoAnne
Berg (Flute)
Music has always played an important part in Joanne’s
life. While still in high school, she played flute in the
Rochester, Minnesota Symphony. She subsequently played in
the St. Paul Symphony, the Mitchell, S.D. and Minot, N.D.
Symphonies, and the Madison Community Orchestra.
At Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church in Madison, Joanne developed the
flute choir, Flutessence, in 1989. She sings in the church’s
Chancel Choir, plays handbells, and has been a member of
the Madison Symphony Chorus for 35 years.
Aside from music,
Joanne is an active member of Patient Partners for Arthritis,
a program that uses people with arthritis to teach medical
students and other health care professionals about the disease
from the patient’s perspective. She and her husband George
also enjoy spending time with their two married daughters
and six grandchildren.
